Social Worker for New Unit in Social Services

About Us

The Social Office actively works to build a knowledge-based social service where follow-up, collaboration, and user participation are integral parts of everyday life. There is a strong commitment to addressing societal challenges with courage, competence, and care.

The unit is one of seven units within the adult department and is responsible for authority exercise concerning domestic violence and crime. The unit has been newly established since April 2025 and consists of a unit manager, a group leader, and four social workers.

We are facing exciting developments where both legislation and societal needs are changing. We are now looking for social workers for our unit to work with the target groups of domestic violence and criminal dropouts/seeking support.

About the Position

As a social worker with us, your main tasks will involve investigating and assessing the need for interventions according to the Social Services Act for individuals belonging to the target groups of victims/perpetrators of violence and criminal dropouts/seeking support. Your main tasks will include:

• Motivating and supporting individuals towards independent living
• Investigating and assessing the need for protection for the target groups
• Investigating and assessing the need for support interventions for the target groups
• Follow-up of interventions and systematic follow-up
• Collaboration with internal and external partners

We Are Looking for Someone Who Has:

We are looking for someone with experience in authority exercise in the areas of domestic violence and crime or other authority exercise within social services.

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. It is advantageous if you have training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), FREDA, SARA, PATRIARK, and RBM.

We expect you to prioritize, make decisions, and have a holistic perspective in your work. We assume that you are an empathetic and secure person with good personal maturity and that you contribute to a positive work environment.

Important qualities include good collaboration skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently. You have good self-awareness, are unpretentious, and have the ability to handle complex situations.
